PROJECT OVERVIEW: Using Photoshop compositing techniques, with an emphasis on blending textures and different assets together, we were required to produce 3 different images of animal hybrids. By incorporating key and distinctive features from 3 different animals, the goal was to produce new, well-executed, fictional animals.
PROJECT OVERVIEW: To experiment with and learn how to create custom brushes, we were tasked to produce at least 3 different abstract patterns that would we used to produce a larger piece. By transforming the initial designs into brushes and manipulating brush settings, we looked to create visually appealing, textured, and colorful digital art.
PROJECT OVERVIEW: In order to learn how to use Photoshop for the purpose of retouching and image correction, we were given an image of a broken fence which we had to then “fix” digitally. After this, we were then required to go a step further and place the fixed fence into at least 2 entirely different scenes.
PROJECT OVERVIEW: We looked to practice using the shape, lasso, and paint bucket tools in order to create three black and white abstract pieces that followed the themes of: active, passive, and mystery. By focusing on form, sharp vs. curved lines, and contrast, we looked to elicit a different response and feeling from each piece. After having made those 3 pieces, we were free to begin to incorporate other shades on the grayscale spectrum to enhance our designs and play with shading.
